Sneak Peek #1

As promised, here's a sneak peek from my new series, "Olive Avenue Inspirations."

This photograph has turned out to be one of my favorite, and I'm loving the evolution of this series. I've dubbed it "A collection of photographs inspired by the rubies and ruins of my hometown." Really, that town is a photographic wonderland. You just have to know where to look.

Although not all of the photos in this series were shot in my hometown, they are all somehow inspired by the aesthetic I've found in its far off corners.

"Shoe Shop" will make its debut at the SFMOMA Artist's Gallery Warehouse Event Sale beginning May 6. If you know anyone in the SF Bay Area, this Event Sale is not to be missed. Over 300 established and emerging Artist's participate, and all Art sold benefits both the Artist and the Gallery.

Enjoy!

Celebrating a Lovely Day

Sunday we celebrated our first Wedding Anniversary. My niece, a budding photographer, perfectly captured the spirit of our ceremony...

One year later, I couldn't help but recall so many sweet details about our day...

The fresh feel of Spring flowers...

Seeing each other for the first time, and the thrill of revealing my dress to him...

The honor of wearing shoes I've admired since I was a child, those of my Grandmother during her dancing days. I adore everything about them, especially their heart-shaped buckle...

The sparkle of bridesmaids...

A quiet moment to enjoy the view...

A Walk with my Dad...

The warmth of sunlight and a familiar hand on my shoulder...

The moment after "I do"...

The morning after our best party ever...the dress has been worn, the day has passed...

and we move forward, together.

On the Road and Home Again

We spent this past week traveling through the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia.

By Air...

By Land...

By Train...

By Sea...

I look forward to sharing photos from our journey (the photos above are from previous adventures.) Traveling is such a treat, but oh, it's so nice to be home...

I have a big week in store, getting things ready for the SFMOMA Artist's Gallery Fundraiser. Stay tuned for more details and a sneak peek of the new work I'm contributing.

I hope you're having a beautiful weekend. We're off to soak up the sunshine and play tourist in our own town... after all, vacation should be good to the last drop! Don't you think?

Roadside Postcards, What Do You Think?

Lately I've been thinking about offering up a new collection of Roadside Postcards. In the spirit of adventure, travel, and of course budget-conscious shopping, I'd like to pick five photographs to print as postcards.

No extra money for a roadtrip this year? Don't you fret. Dust off your magnet collection and decorate your fridge with Roadside Postcards!

I have a few photographs in mind but am curious to know what you think.

Which photographs would you like to see reprinted as Postcards?

Please take a look at
my Etsy Shop or Website and let me know what you'd select.

The Roadside Postcard set should be av
ailable in early May. Please leave a Comment to let me know what you'd choose -- You'll be entered to win your own set of Roadside Postcards in a Giveaway set to happen next month. How's that for excitement?!

My Bay Area Life: Graffiti Watching

Among the many things that excite me... Graffiti. A couple of months ago, on a road I travel daily, the Dream Yard appeared. A section of fence lay flat to the ground, so we ventured inside to discover a painted world.

The fence has since been repaired, discouraging access to the inside. New pieces, including these amazing honey bees, continue to pop up.

So many things to love about Oakland. More photos to come...

Saturday Sweets

In the immortal words of Steven Stills,

...if you can't be with the one you love, honey, love the one you're with!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
